Taking in the Sights of London (Pictures)

More pictures from my first few days' exploration around London:

London Eye. My first evening in London.

"I was waiting for a cross-town train on the London Underground when it struck me..."

The Hotel Russell (I had to look this up).

The Rosetta Stone, at the British Museum.

Ensuring that unsuspecting visitors don't inadvertently walk directly into traffic.

The extremely cramped room I lived in for four nights!

Somewhere near London Bridge, on the South Bank.

Victoria monument, right in front of Buckingham Palace.

Westminster Abbey.

The distinctive double decker London red buses.

10 Downing Street. The Prime Minister lives here.

I just find every little difference in language here so interesting and charming.

St. Paul's and the Millennium (wobbly) bridge.

Inside the Tate Modern.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (obviously not the original).

Memorial to Princess Diana inside Harrod's.

My first meal of Fish & Chips at a cute small restaurant in Notting Hill.

30 St. Mary Axe (aka the Gherkin).

This building is being demolished from the bottom up (because it's too crowded in The City to have a proper demolition?).

A gate leading to Hyde Park.

Piccadilly Circus. London's Times Square.

The National Portrait Gallery, Trafalgar Square.

The changing of the guard. Aka the most touristy event in London.

...And the pain of living with an exchange rate of over $2 to the pound.
